Finding Your Anchor in the Void: Meaning, Purpose and Change

Finding your anchor during times of uncertainty is essential when life feels unclear, unfamiliar, or completely in between chapters.

You may feel present, but also lost. You may sense that something has changed, but you cannot yet name what comes next. You may feel like you are navigating life with a blindfold on, reaching for something solid while the old structures dissolve.

This is the void.

The void is the space between who you were and who you are becoming.

In this episode of Soul Sessions with Amanda Rieger Green, Amanda explores finding your anchor in the void, navigating rapid change, reconnecting with meaning, and staying embodied during personal and collective transformation.

What Does It Mean to Find Your Anchor?

Finding your anchor means identifying what helps you stay grounded, present, and connected when life feels uncertain.

An anchor is not always a plan.

It is not always a clear answer.

It is not always a goal, timeline, or outcome.

Sometimes your anchor is your breath. Sometimes it is your body. Sometimes it is a spiritual practice, a trusted relationship, a daily ritual, a prayer, a walk outside, or the quiet truth that you are still here.

Finding your anchor helps you return to yourself when the future feels unknown.

It reminds you that you do not need to have everything figured out to take the next honest step.

What Is the Void?

The void is a liminal space.

It is the place between endings and beginnings. It is the space where the old identity no longer fits, but the new one has not fully formed.

The void can feel uncomfortable because it does not offer immediate clarity.

You may feel disoriented, tired, restless, sensitive, or unsure. You may want answers, but the answers may not be ready yet.

This does not mean you are failing.

It means you are transforming.

The void is not empty. It is full of potential.

But potential often feels like uncertainty before it becomes direction.

Why Life Feels So Uncertain Right Now

We are living through a time of rapid technological, cultural, spiritual, and relational change.

The pace of information is accelerating. Artificial intelligence is reshaping how we think, work, create, communicate, and connect. Collective systems are shifting. Many people are questioning old identities, old definitions of success, and old ways of belonging.

This can feel overwhelming.

It can also feel deeply clarifying.

When the outer world changes quickly, the inner world must recalibrate.

Finding your anchor becomes essential because the old reference points may no longer work.

What grounded you three years ago may not ground you now.

What gave you purpose before may not give you meaning today.

Purpose vs. Meaning

One of the major themes of finding your anchor is understanding the difference between purpose and meaning.

Purpose can be linear.

It may be connected to goals, roles, work, identity, achievement, service, or direction. Purpose can give us structure. It helps us move forward.

Meaning is different.

Meaning is more fluid. It is deeper, wider, and more alive. Meaning evolves as we evolve.

Purpose may ask, “What am I here to do?”

Meaning may ask, “What makes this life feel sacred, honest, and true?”

Purpose may change when a role ends, a job shifts, a relationship changes, or an old identity dissolves.

Meaning can remain alive underneath all of it.

When purpose feels unclear, meaning can become the anchor.

The 1 Universal Year and a New Cycle

This episode also explores the energy of the 1 Universal Year and the beginning of a new 10-year cycle.

The 1 energy is connected to new beginnings, courage, identity, leadership, independence, and pioneering a new path.

It is the energy of becoming.

But new beginnings do not always feel exciting at first.

Sometimes they feel awkward.

Sometimes they feel empty.

Sometimes they feel like you have outgrown an old version of yourself, but you have not fully stepped into the new version yet.

The 1 Universal Year asks:

Who am I becoming?

What path am I ready to pioneer?

What old version of me no longer fits?

Where am I being asked to lead myself differently?

Finding your anchor in this energy helps you move forward without forcing clarity before it arrives.

Uranus in Gemini and Rapid Change

Uranus in Gemini brings electric, fast-moving, disruptive, and awakening energy.

Uranus is connected to innovation, freedom, disruption, shock, liberation, and sudden change.

Gemini is connected to communication, information, learning, language, technology, perception, and the nervous system.

Together, Uranus in Gemini can feel like a rewiring of the mind.

It may change how we communicate, process information, connect with others, and understand reality.

This energy can bring breakthroughs. It can also bring anxiety, overstimulation, scattered thinking, and nervous system overload.

Finding your anchor becomes even more important during Uranus in Gemini because the pace of change may feel faster than the mind can process.

Your body may need time to catch up with what your consciousness already knows.

Physical Symptoms as Anchoring Points

During deep transformation, the body often speaks first.

Physical symptoms may show up when the nervous system, emotional body, or energetic field is processing rapid change.

This does not mean ignoring medical needs. The body deserves care, support, and attention.

But from an energetic perspective, physical symptoms can also become anchoring points.

They may show you where energy is stuck, where overwhelm is present, or where the body is asking you to slow down.

Anxiety, tension, fatigue, pain, digestive changes, throat tightness, headaches, or restlessness may all invite deeper listening.

Instead of judging the body, ask:

What is my body trying to tell me?

Where do I need more support?

What am I moving through that my mind has not fully processed?

What helps me feel safe right now?

Your body is not separate from your spiritual growth.

Your body is part of the path.

Authenticity in a Time of Change

Finding your anchor also requires radical authenticity.

When life changes quickly, old masks become harder to maintain. The roles, scripts, and patterns that once helped you feel safe may begin to feel heavy.

You may no longer be able to pretend.

You may feel less tolerant of surface-level living, performance, or inauthentic connection.

This is not a crisis.

It is a recalibration.

Authenticity does not mean broadcasting every feeling or burning everything down. It means listening to what is true and making choices that honor your evolving self.

Ask yourself:

Where am I pretending?

What no longer feels honest?

What version of me am I ready to release?

What truth feels quiet but undeniable?

What would it mean to live with more integrity?

Your anchor may be your willingness to tell yourself the truth.

How to Find Your Anchor in the Void

Finding your anchor does not require a perfect plan.

It requires presence.

Here are simple ways to begin:

1. Return to Your Breath

Your breath is one of the most immediate anchors.

When life feels uncertain, breathe slowly and intentionally.

Place one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Remind yourself: I am here now.

2. Listen to Your Body

The body often knows what the mind cannot yet explain.

Notice sensations, tension, fatigue, restlessness, or emotion.

Ask your body what it needs before forcing yourself to make a decision.

Sometimes the next step is not action.

Sometimes the next step is regulation.

3. Create a Simple Daily Ritual

Ritual creates stability during transition.

This can be simple.

Light a candle. Journal for five minutes. Step outside. Drink water slowly. Pull a card. Pray. Stretch. Clear your space.

A ritual does not need to be complicated to be powerful.

It simply needs to help you return to yourself.

4. Let Meaning Be Enough

When purpose feels unclear, let meaning guide you.

Ask:

What feels meaningful today?

What feels honest?

What feels nourishing?

What helps me remember who I am?

Meaning can be found in small moments.

A conversation. A prayer. A walk. A meal. A creative idea. A moment of stillness.

You do not need a grand purpose to live a meaningful day.

5. Stay Connected to Soul-Aligned Community

The void can feel lonely.

But you do not have to navigate it in isolation.

Soul-aligned community can help you stay grounded, witnessed, and connected while you move through change.

The right community does not pressure you to have all the answers.

It gives you space to become.

Finding Your Anchor and Human Potential

Finding your anchor is part of human potential.

We are being asked to become more conscious, more embodied, more discerning, and more authentic.

This is not about escaping the human experience.

It is about becoming more fully human.

In times of uncertainty, your anchor helps you stay connected to meaning. It helps you move through change without losing yourself. It helps you invite more light into your physical body and more truth into your daily life.

The void is not the end.

It is the threshold.

And your anchor is what helps you cross it.
