How to Clear Your Energy and Reclaim Your Power

Something is changing in the way we perceive, process, and participate in life.

The volume of information is increasing. Our emotional and sensory awareness is becoming more refined. Many people are noticing that old identities, relationships, priorities, and ways of making meaning no longer feel coherent.

This is not simply a call to absorb more information. It is an invitation to perceive more clearly.

As we move through the remainder of 2026, into 2027, and toward spring 2028, discernment will become one of our most important human capacities. The question is not only, “What am I sensing?”

It is also: Is this mine?

That simple question can interrupt overwhelm, restore perspective, and help you return to your own signal.

In this episode of *Soul Sessions*, I explore energetic discernment as a grounded practice of self-awareness. It is not about blaming another person, bypassing your emotions, or finding a mystical explanation for every uncomfortable feeling. It is about becoming honest enough to recognize what belongs to you, and sovereign enough to release what does not.

Why energetic discernment matters now

Think back to January 2025. How have your inner “tastebuds” changed since then?

What once felt meaningful may now feel empty. What you used to tolerate may feel impossible to ignore. You may be drawn toward different people, environments, conversations, or ways of living. Your definition of success may have changed. So may your relationship with your body, intuition, work, home, or spiritual life.

These shifts are evidence of refinement.

Over the last 18 months, many of us have been asked to heal, simplify, grieve, forgive, and release identities that once gave our lives structure. We have been learning the difference between noise and knowing, urgency and truth, information and wisdom.

That distinction matters because the pace of collective change is not slowing down. Technology, artificial intelligence, social systems, communication, and collective intelligence are reshaping how we relate to one another and understand ourselves.

In an increasingly interconnected world, a strong inner signal is not a luxury. It is an orientation system.

The difference between sensitivity and discernment

Sensitivity allows you to notice.

Discernment helps you understand how to respond.

You may walk into a room and immediately sense tension. You may leave a conversation carrying anxiety that was not present before. You may wake up feeling heavy, restless, or emotionally flooded without knowing why.

For intuitive and highly perceptive people, the instinct is often to investigate everything:

– Where did this feeling come from?
– Whose energy am I carrying?
– Is this connected to my childhood, my ancestry, or a past experience?
– What do I need to heal?

Sometimes reflection is useful. But not every sensation requires an excavation.

Discernment begins with recognition. Before you analyze the feeling, pause and ask whether it is yours.

A simple energetic discernment practice

When you notice heaviness, anxiety, agitation, sadness, mental chatter, or a vague sense that something feels “off,” take one conscious breath and ask internally:

“Is this mine?”

Do not force an answer. Notice the first clean impression before the mind begins constructing a story. It may arrive as a yes, a no, a physical softening, a contraction, or a quiet inner knowing.

Then respond accordingly.

If the answer is yes

Own the feeling without making it wrong.

Name what is present: “This is sadness. This is fear. This is disappointment. This is mine to meet.”

Let the emotion move through your body with breath and awareness. You do not need to identify its complete history in that moment. The practice is to be present enough to experience it without abandoning yourself or projecting it onto someone else.

Owning what is yours is an act of integrity. It often restores energy because you are no longer resisting your own experience.

If you are in conversation with someone, you might say: “I’m noticing some heavy emotion, and I need a few minutes to be with it. This is not about you.”

That is not weakness. It is emotional intelligence in action.

If the answer is no

Do not search for someone to blame. You do not need to identify the source or decide why the energy entered your awareness.

Simply become clear: “This is not mine to process. I release it from my field now.”

Use language that feels direct and authentic. Your boundary does not need to be elaborate, ceremonial, or overly compassionate to be valid. Sometimes the clearest response is the simplest:

“Get this energy out of my field. Thanks!”

Then return your attention to your body, your breath, and the physical space around you. Feel your feet. Notice the surface supporting you. Reorient to the present moment.

The power of this practice is not in perfect metaphysical certainty. It is in the pause. You stop automatically identifying with everything you sense and create enough space to choose your response.

Energetic boundaries are not walls

An energetic boundary is not a rejection of other people. It is a declaration of responsibility.

Without discernment, sensitive people often confuse compassion with absorption. They carry another person’s fear, manage the emotional atmosphere, or take responsibility for discomfort that does not belong to them.

But absorbing everything does not make you more loving. It makes your signal harder to hear.

True compassion allows you to remain connected without becoming entangled. You can witness pain without claiming it. You can support someone without processing their experience for them. You can care deeply and still belong to yourself.

This is personal sovereignty: not control over life, but conscious stewardship of your attention, energy, and choices.

What are you ready to stop carrying?

The energetic pressure of August and September 2026 may bring unfinished business into sharper focus. Old wounds, resentments, identities, or timelines may reappear—not necessarily because you need to reopen them, but because you are ready to stop feeding them.

Ask yourself:

– What have I already understood that I no longer need to analyze?
– What identity belongs to a version of me that has completed its work?
– What am I maintaining from habit rather than truth?
– Where is forgiveness less about approval and more about releasing my attachment to an old timeline?
– What matters to me now?

You need your energy for what is emerging. You do not need to drag every former version of yourself into the future.

Grounded ways to clear and reorganize your energy

Energetic clarity is strengthened through physical presence. You do not need a complicated ritual. Choose practices that bring you back into direct relationship with your body and environment.

You might:

– Stand barefoot on the earth for a few minutes and feel the steadiness beneath you.
– Touch a tree, breathe slowly, and let your senses orient to the living world.
– Open a window, clear clutter, or use sage as a conscious marker of release.
– Place a healthy leafy plant near your bed or in a room where you spend significant time.
– Work with selenite as a symbolic and sensory anchor for clarity.
– Reduce incoming information long enough to hear your own thoughts.
– Ask “Is this mine?” before reacting to a sudden emotional shift.

These practices are not substitutes for medical or mental-health care. They are supportive rituals for attention, grounding, and self-awareness. If physical or emotional symptoms persist, seek appropriate professional support while continuing to listen to your inner intelligence.

From healing to coherence

There are seasons when we need to study the past. There are also seasons when the deeper work is to become available to the present.

Many of us are standing at that threshold now.

The invitation is not to perfect yourself before the future arrives. It is to become coherent enough to meet life as it is: clear in your values, honest about your limits, responsive rather than reactive, and rooted in your own direct knowing.

Coherence does not mean that everything feels peaceful. It means your thoughts, body, emotions, values, and choices are in a more honest relationship with one another.

From that state, your intuition becomes easier to recognize. Your boundaries become cleaner. Your contribution becomes more distinct. You can participate in collective change without losing the unique intelligence you came here to express.

Your awareness is your superpower

The coming years may ask more of us mentally, emotionally, biologically, and spiritually. New forms of connection and collective intelligence may challenge our ideas about individuality, identity, and belonging.

Your task is not to predict every change. It is to strengthen the capacities that help you meet change consciously.

Recognition is one of those capacities.

When something enters your awareness, pause.

Ask: “Is this mine?”

If it is, meet it with courage.

If it is not, release it without guilt.

Then return to the present, where your energy, agency, and next meaningful choice are waiting.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is energetic discernment?

Energetic discernment is the practice of noticing an emotional, mental, or sensory impression and pausing to determine whether it reflects your own experience. It helps create space between what you perceive and how you respond.

How do I know if an energy or emotion is mine?

Pause, take a conscious breath, and ask internally, “Is this mine?” Notice your first calm impression before analyzing it. If it is yours, name and feel it without judgment. If it does not feel like yours, release your identification with it and return your attention to the present moment.

How can I clear my energy quickly?

Use a simple statement such as, “This is not mine to process. I release it now.” Then reconnect with your body through slow breathing, feeling your feet on the ground, stepping outside, reducing sensory input, or spending a few minutes with a grounding physical practice.

Are energetic boundaries the same as emotional boundaries?

They overlap. Both involve recognizing where your responsibility begins and ends. An energetic boundary is a spiritual or intuitive framing; an emotional boundary focuses on feelings, behavior, and relational responsibility. In practice, both support clarity, self-trust, and healthier connection.
